My name is Victoria and I became a physiotherapist because I love helping people to live to their full potential. I believe in empowering people through education about their condition or injury, collaborative goal setting, and the use of hands-on treatment to promote wellness.
While I promote evidence-based practice, I strive to balance it with clinical experience and individual beliefs to create holistic rehabilitation programs that are both effective and enjoyable.
“If you have made mistakes, even serious mistakes, you may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call “failure” is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
– Mary Pickford
I graduated from McMaster University with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to this, I completed my M.Sc. in Global Health and Development at University College London and my Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. I have completed several post-graduate training courses in neurokinetic therapy, soft tissue release techniques, acupuncture, orthopaedic manual therapy, pelvic physiotherapy, spinal cord injury management, and athletic taping. Although my training is diverse, it allows me to see how everything is connected.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking with my dog, lifting weights, cycling, and traveling abroad.
Something you would like people to know:
I would like my clients to know that ‘motion is lotion’ and that it is often better to keep moving gently than to stop moving a part of the body altogether. I would also like people to know that urinary incontinence is not normal and often indicates dysfunction in the pelvic floor muscles and the structures surrounding the pelvis. These can be treated effectively with pelvic floor physiotherapy.
Fun fact about me
I lived in South Korea for three years and make a mean batch of homemade kimchi.
