Infants

Did you know that common conditions such as colic, plagiocephaly, and torticollis can be improved or alleviated with physiotherapy treatment? We also have the expertise to treat infants with developmental or neurological issues.
Colic
Most health care professionals will say that the cause of colic is unknown and there is no treatment for it. We find that infants with colic have significant tightness in the tissues of the abdomen that support the organs. In our experience, freeing this connective tissue (called fascia) improves and often completely alleviates the symptoms of colic.
Colic Can be Treated
Plagiocephaly and Torticollis
Both of these conditions are traditionally considered local issues. Plagiocephaly is a flattening on one side of the head and torticollis is an apparent tightness in one side of the neck. Many health care professionals will treat these conditions locally (i.e. treating just the head or neck), but we find that they are the result of asymmetrical movement patterns throughout the whole body. Our approach to looking at the big picture usually resolves the problem quickly and prevents further issues later in life.
Torticollis is More than just a Neck Problem
Developmental and Neurological Issues
We have the paediatric experience to treat infants who are delayed in meeting developmental milestones, or who have been diagnosed with a neurological condition.
