Janet Dill

Janet no longer practices under our umbrella but is available as an independent practitioner providing services in the community. Her area of expertise is treating people with neurological issues such as strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and Parkinson’s disease. My name is Janet and I most enjoy helping adults with neurological conditions, particularly stroke and acquired brain injury. I believe that every person is unique and should be treated with compassion as an individual, not a disorder.

My first exposure to physiotherapy was in first year university, where I went with the plan of becoming a doctor. I sustained an injury while playing softball and I required physio. It was from that experience, that I decided on my new career path. Well, that and a movie starring Harrison Ford called Regarding Henry, about a man going through rehab after a brain injury and learning to walk again.

I graduated from McMaster University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. Since then I have had diverse experience, working in acute care hospitals, orthopaedic clinics, rehabilitation centres, and community-based care. My continuing education interests include the Bobath concept and myofascial release. I am also certified in the LSVT BIG programme for people with Parkinson’s disease. My experience allows me to address complex issues in a holistic manner.

When not working or at some activity venue with my children, I enjoy running and playing hockey.
